The weather was MUCH nicer today! Sunshine and blue skies all day long, but yet not too terribly hot and sweaty. You know, I don't believe you can just pray whatever weather up that you want whenever you want, but Mikey and I sure did pray for clear weather for today, and our prayers were answered. Quick, let's pray for clear weather tomorrow, too! :)

Today we had the same basic schedule as Tuesday, although the craft was different (the boys made ICE CREAM with milk, sugar, and vanilla extract, along with some crushed ice and rock salt, in a couple of plastic bags! It was Mikey's vote for the most fun thing he did all day!), the "tools" class was different (they made bug catchers), and the "skills" was different (they had a "nature" class where they talked about tree rings and did bark rubbings). They shot BB guns, shot bows and arrows, and went fishing. And Mikey caught a fish today!

One of the boys spent $5 on candy and soda at the snack bar early on... he had candy in every pocket imaginable. It was pretty funny! And Mikey actually got help from one of the other boys to catch a grasshopper, which Mikey named "Jumpy."

Mikey also continued his launch into the wild and wonderful world of "trade-'ems" (also called "swaps" but Mikey likes to call them trade-'ems because someone told the boys that "swaps" is what the girl scouts call them!) They're just little trinkets or small toys or pieces of cloth or whatever, with safety pins attached so you can pin them to a hat. Then when you see someone with one you like, you can trade for it! Just kind of a fun Cub Scout side thing. I think Mikey has three or four of them now.

Don't miss the rest of today's pictures on Flickr!
